On sacrifice

SHE SAID:
love means sacrifice.each member of the family,in one way or another, has to learn to give in,give up,and give over for the sake of the rest

HE SAID:
I dunno. Wouldn't it be better to set things up so you don't have to sacrifice anything in the first place??
I mean, with a dint of hard work and creativity, cash flows can be improved.
With a bit of loving attention, communication, and forgiveness, personal bonds can be buffed or restored.

If the parents sacrifice too much for the children - to the point that they lose their own productivity and happiness , then they become liablities as they rely on their children to repay what they have given up. More importantly, if the parents completely sacrifice success in their careers for their children, then the children wouldn't have an effective role-model to guide them towards success... so you can't expect the children to excel in their careers, which then makes them pass their dreams to their children... until it becomes an unfortunate cycle that has to be broken by extraordinary effort and will... ... I think that Sacrifice, like suffering, has no value in and of itself. It is by nature unpleasant. However, it gives value to the action or outcome that you aim for, that you suffer or sacrifice for. Happy Birthday Shantrice!!

I do wish you a Happy Birthday in advance,
and pardon this humble doggerel,
I also wish you a continuing Dream
With which both of you entrance.

The sea is old, but may your resolve persist as long,
and ever your lips be graced by song.
That flowers should bloom at your feet, along that well-paved path to May,
That for you old man Winter sleep, and harken early a Brighter and Longer Day.

May Untarnished and Unfeigned
Gentle affection unto each other keep,
and that Passion bloom deeper than the briny deeps.
May you live long and without regrets.

Fret naught the cold winds and thunder,
For this Circle of Friends may be small in number,
But it is Steel that will neither rust nor bend,
It is a sword that tears despair and fear asunder,
An adamantine shield for all we call Friend.

Happy Birthday ;)
